Après les nombreux déboires qu'ils ont connu, le dernier que nous vous avons relaté étant les difficultés à commercialiser les cartes graphiques à base de Fermi, une nouvelle histoire vient encore entacher leur réputation déjà largement écornée.
Les derniers pilotes qu'ils ont mis en ligne la semaine dernière pour Windows (196.75) présentent un grave bug. Ce bug provoque le ralentissement ou même l'arrêt des ventilateurs des cartes graphiques même lorsqu'elles sont en pleine charge ce qui peut provoquer en cas d'usage intensif de logiciels 3D artéfacts et même dans certains cas relatés la mort de la puce graphique. L'affaire a été découverte par des bêta testeurs de Starcraft II qui ont dans un premier temps accusé Blizzard avant de comprendre que la panne de leur carte était liée aux derniers pilotes téléchargés.
Pour le moment NVidia explique sur son site comment retourner à une version précédente des pilotes. Il leur faudra ensuite gérer les utilisateurs dont les cartes ont été victimes de ce bug.

Tamron have introduced a SP 70-300mm F/4-5.6 Di VC USD lens for Nikon full-frame DSLR cameras. Equipped with Tamron?s ?Vibration Compensation? technology, the lens is optically stabilized. Tamron?s USD works with the high-frequency ultrasonic vibrations that are produced by a ring called a ?stator?. Energy from the vibrations is used to rotate an attached metallic ring known as the ?rotor?. Piezoelectric ceramic, an element that produces ultrasonic vibrations when voltage of a specific frequency is applied is arranged in a ring formation on the stator. This electrode configuration of piezoelectric ceramic causes two ultrasonic vibrations to occur in the stator.
